“Children of Beqaa" documents the stories of countless refugees through the eyes of director, Elias Matar, and his daughter, Lyla. They traveled to the Beqaa Valley, Lebanon during the summer of 2016 to volunteer with Salam LADC, a local NGO. Over 800,000 Syrian refugees have sought refuge in the Beqaa Valley and have been living in a state of uncertainty not knowing what tomorrow will bring for the past five years. The film gives a voice to refugees who are desperately seeking to have their stories heard. After the film, there will be a Q & A with director/producer Elias Matar.

Fort Wayne for Refugees is a 501(C)3 and will be accepting cash donations which will be divided with Elias Matar's nonprofit, Lighthouse Peace Initiative - http://www.lpicorp.org/. At the screening we will also be collecting donations of new or gently-used pants, sweatshirts, coats, hats, gloves/mittens and closed-toe shoes for refugee children, women and men.
